Kosmas Kosmopoulos <\/strong>was born in Athens in 1972. In the late 1980s, he moved to Berlin, where he works as a choreographer, dance pedagogue, performer, and curator for the last three decades. After studying theatrical sciences and art history at the Free University of Berlin, he began his dance training at Tanzfabrik and the Die Etage School for Performance and Visual Arts. From 1995 to 1998, he studied dance and choreography at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels (artistic directorship Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker). He completed the Training and Research Cycles with a scholarship from the European Union under the Kaleidoscope program and a dance scholarship from the Berlin Cultural Senate (1999). While studying, he performed in works by Robert Wilson, Felix Ruckert, David Hernandez, Randy Warsaw, Jan Ritsema and Thomas Plischke. In 2000, he joined the X-Group project, a creative programme for young choreographers at P.A.R.T.S., in the frame of the European Cultural Capital BRUXELLES 2000.<\/p>\n

From 1998 to 2002, he created a series of choreographic and art works, as co-founder of the Flemish contemporary dance company ALKYONIS, featured in theaters, museums, cultural centers and festivals in Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Portugal.<\/p>\n

In 2002, he took the initiative to establish the artistic collective LUNA PARK based in Berlin and Athens. A year later, he launched the activities of the artistic collective, integrating them in Berlin’s cultural policies. Within this context, he combined two of his main interests, the artistic production in the performing arts and the cultural education of children and adolescents, especially those with migration or refugee background. Between 2012 to 2021, he created six choreographies in collaboration with artists of other disciplines and dancers of LUNA PARK, premiered at the Uferstudios in Berlin and then reperformed in various theatrical stages in Athens.<\/p>\n

In 2016, he conceived and developed an annual summer workcamp with emphasis on dance composition classes for graduates or students at vocational dance schools from Germany and Greece, entitled “How to dance in times of crisis?”, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Family and Youth. The choreographic searches, experimental phases of a dance performance, have been staged in Athens and Berlin. His ongoing artistic and socio-cultural projects include an annual series of performances at the Uferstudios with professional dancers as well as children. Since 2019, he is directing the cultural non-profit organisation Initiative LUNA PARK e.V. based at the Gesundbrunnen Elementary School in Berlin. A key characteristic of this non-profit cultural organization is to increase synergistic relationships and links between the performing arts and the creative educational programs for children and adolescents in the wider community.

Giovanni Lo Curto <\/strong>was born in Palermo in 1983. He works as a freelance photographer, photojournalist, videomaker and photo editor in Germany, Cuba, Greece and Italy, focusing on current social, political, religious and economic issues. He is primarily involved in long-term documentary projects that involve interdisciplinary exchange and go beyond the moment of reporting.<\/p>\n

After living in South America and the Middle East, he moved to Berlin in 2010. There his work has been published several times in magazines and newspapers such as ND, TAZ, FHZZ, CONTRASTE, Cargo and Chorzeit. He was commissioned the production of “Il Collezionista di Baci” for Modadori Electa and “Die moderne Stadt Berlin-Lichtenberg – Ein Architekturf\u00fchrer” for Berlin Story Verlag. Since 2012 Giovanni Lo Curto<\/a> has been collaborating with the LUNA PARK initiative, and since March 2019 he has also been the vice-chairman of the non-profit association of the same name. Since 2020, as part of the artistic team of Initiative LUNA PARK, he has been realizing the ECHO project as part of an IMPACT grant from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>.

Kai Pichmann<\/strong>, born in Rostock, Germany, in 1968, writer, playwright and dramaturge Kai Pichmann spent half his life in the former East Berlin. In the last ten years or more, he has been writing texts for adults and children that he presents on websites, in literature magazines, and in theatrical stages, sometimes as a paid employee and sometimes for a public benefit purpose. Other times, he writes utopian ideas all alone, in a skeptical dialogue with himself, which often end up in the trash can.<\/p>\n

Since 2012, as an active member of the artistic collective LUNA PARK, he has been involved in numerous cultural and theatrical productions as a playwright, and as a dance dramaturge, among other roles. Working as a dramaturg, he supports the full realization of the choreographer’s creative vision by asking questions in a self-reflective manner about the concept, the structure of actions, the sociopolitical context of the performance, and other thoughts, as a careful spectator of the rehearsals process. His performative texts have inspired the dramatization of stories in theatrical productions that have been presented in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Greece.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>.

Antonios Palaskas<\/strong>, born in Athens in 1970, Antonis Palaskas works as a composer of contemporary electronic music. In 2008, he obtained a master\u2019s degree in computer music from the National University of Ireland. He released his first four albums as a member of the Greek pioneering electronic music group \u201cStereo Nova\u201d and later as \u201calfa P\u201d the solo album \u201cTV Head\u201d. In 1990, he founded the group \u201cSupermarket\u201d together with Adriana Touliatou and recorded three albums.<\/p>\n

Since 2005, he has been composing music for contemporary dance and performance practices. He collaborates with \u201cLemurius Dance Company\u201d, \u201cGriffon Dance Company\u201d and the artistic collective \u201cLUNA PARK\u201d, among others. Many of his works have been presented throughout Europe in theatrical stages and festivals, such as the Onassis Cultural Centre\/Stegi and the Athens-Epidaurus Festival. In 2013, he composed the works \u201cSonic Landscapes # 1\u201d and \u201cSonic Landscapes # 2\u201d, based on sounds of the Earth\u2019s magnetosphere and the pulsars. In collaboration with the astrophysicist Fiori-Anastasia Metallinou he gave a series of lectures at universities, schools and museums in Athens and Thessaloniki.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>.

Maria Tsouvala<\/strong> worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece until 2019. She earned her academic degree from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Athens, where she also studied at the Rallou Manou Professional Dance School. She earned the Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Education (MEd) degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Faculty of Philosophy, Education and Psychology at the University of Athens.<\/p>\n

From 1990 to 2013 she taught choreography and improvisation, dance history and dance pedagogy at various professional dance schools in Athens. She published numerous articles and papers in Greek and international scientific journals. Her main research interests are dance history, dance phenomenology and critical educational theory. Furthermore, she developed various choreographies for the contemporary dance company Meta-kinesis, sponsored by the Greek Ministry of Culture, Athens Concert Hall and the International Dance Festival of Kalamata, among others. Maria Tsouvala<\/a> is involved in voluntary work with children and young people, especially with unaccompanied and parentless young refugees, and also with delinquent youth. She has been closely associated with the LUNA PARK initiative since it was founded.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>.

Dr. Georgia Touliatou<\/strong> works as a Researcher\/Intermediator. She studied painting at the School of Fine and Applied Arts \/ Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (BA) and Semiotic Stills and Video at the Wimbledon School of Art \/ University of the Arts in London, where she obtained a Master of Arts (MA) and a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD). Her work is concerned with the formulation of protective narratives and the operativity of memory that supports their creation (counter-memory<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Nikoleta Koutitsa<\/strong> was born in Thessaloniki in 1992. In 2014 she graduated from the State School of Dance in Athens, and from 2015 to 2016 she attended the DANCE START UP school in Bologna. Since 2017 she has been working regularly in productions of the LUNA PARK initiative. She also worked with the Hellenic Dance Company in New York and with Emanuel Gat at the Venice Biennale in 2016, furthermore in a production of the Greek National Opera by Apostolia Papadamaki and Heidi Latsky as part of the Summer Nostos Festival.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Nikoleta Koutitsa founded KN Dance Group together with Karolina Theleriti, whose choreography “This is not what you see” was shown at festivals in Athens, Aigina and Venice. KN Dance Group also produced videos and dance films that were presented at various festivals, such as Athens Video Dance Project, Breaking 8 Festival, at ORK_KOTA in Budapest (Jury Award for Best One-Minute Dance Film 2018), Rollout Festival in Macao and Seyr Festival in Tehran. Her video “Dialogue 3” was screened at Athens Video Dance 2019, “Private Absence” at the festivals Railway Carriage Theater in Athens and Dance Days Chania in Crete. Nikoleta Koutitsa was choreographic assistant in the production of Shakespeare’s “Tragedy of King Richard III”, presented at the Athens and Epidaurus Festival 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>.

Maria Kandylaki<\/strong> was born in Athens\/Greece in 1986. She graduated from the D. Grigoriadou School of Dance in 2013, that is a year after she acquired a degree in Social Work from the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. She completed numerous dance seminars in Athens, Vienna, Constantinople and Berlin. Maria regularly participates in productions and international exchange projects of LUNA PARK Initiative since 2012, assuming various positions like that of a dancer, choreographic assistant and team leader. In addition, she has co operated with other artists taking part in various festivals and plays.<\/p>\n

Also, her choreographic works are: Long For Revival (2017) that was presented at Studio Kinitiras art Residency and In The Cannon’s Mouth (2018) that was presented both at 3rd Zante Dance Festival and at ASKT Theater Athens. At the same time, for the past ten years, she is working as a Dance teacher for private dance schools, dance societies and public Artistic Highschools working with children, adolescents and adults. Michael Graessner<\/strong> was born in Berlin in 1969. He studied set design at the Berlin School of Fine Arts (UdK) with Achim Freyer and participated as an actor in many of the director’s productions. He designed the set for the production of Freyer \u201cDie Eingeborene\u201d by Franz Xaver Kroetz presented at the Akademietheater in Vienna, which was invited to participate in the Theatertreffen in Berlin. In the late 1990s, he worked in film and television productions, creating commercials and video clips for the German subversive group of the industrial metal scene \u201cRammstein\u201d, among others.<\/p>\n

As a set and costume designer for theater plays and operas, he creates sceneries and theatrical situations for entire seasons, as for example for the Kammerspiele in Munich or the Maxim Gorki Theater. For many years, his stenographic design includes works in schools and theaters. He also works for the Goethe-Institut in Berlin, the Berlin Academy of Arts, the Venice Biennale of Architecture, and the city of Nuremberg in the occasion of its candidacy for the title of European Capital of Culture 2025. Tuna Arkun studied painting and graphic arts at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden K\u00fcnste Karlsruhe and for a few months as part of an exchange program at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Bildende K\u00fcnste Bratislava, Slovakia.
